SEPA PERMIT

In February 2015, Lafarge Tarmac cement plant was awarded a new Part A Environmental Permit by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

The permit is issued and monitored by SEPA to meet EU standards of operation for industrial sectors, and sets out conditions the cement plant must meet in order to function, including maximum levels of emissions which can be released while operating.

Florin Stoiean, plant manager at Lafarge Tarmac Dunbar, commented “Obviously, this is an essential piece of legislation and we always aim to not only meet the mandatory standards but exceed these where we can, while also looking ahead at evolving regulations which address future requirements.”
