Dunbar & District Twinning Association Annual Scholarship Award

France scholarshipThe committee of the Dunbar and District Twinning Association is offering support to enable a young person to visit our twin town of Lignieres in central France in the summer of 2015.
Who is eligible: a young person over the age of 17 years at the time of the visit whose family resides in the Dunbar area. 2 young people going at the same time would be encouraged.
How do you apply: Anyone wishing to take this opportunity should apply in writing explaining why they would benefit from the scholarship and send it to the secretary of the twinning association Fay Stanton, Mayfield, North Road, Dunbar.
Reason for visit: to improve French language skills, to obtain work experience in another country, to experience a different culture or a mixture of these.

Call for Nominations to Chair the Dunbar & East Linton Area Partnership

Nominations are now open for the position of Chair of the Dunbar and East Linton Area Partnership, and all members are encouraged to consider nominating for this key local leadership post. The position of chairperson is a voluntary post open to residents of the Dunbar & East Linton area aged 16+. Local residents looking for a chance to make a difference in their community are encouraged to apply.

lammermuir transportBased in Tranent, Lammermuir Community Transport specialises in providing affordable and accessible transport to groups within East Lothian providing a minibus to suit your needs.
They currently have 3 minibuses available for hire – two 17 seater and one 14 seater. Any non-profit making community or voluntary group within East Lothian can book the minibuses provided they are involved in social welfare, education, sport, recreation or any other activity which is of benefit to the community.
The charge to use a minibus is 80p per mile when your own MiDAS qualified driver is used or they can offer a with driver hire at 90p per mile (subject to driver availablilty). There is a minimum hire charge of £20. All User Groups are required to pay an annual membership fee of £15 to register with the project. For more information and contact details click here
