East Lothian Council has successfully secured £1.4m of Spaces for People funding to introduce a series of temporary changes to streets to provide more space for people to access businesses in our town centres and to exercise whilst observing current physical distancing health guidelines. Many local shops have been able to re-open for business this week and these temporary changes are focused on protecting public health, supporting social distancing and preventing a second wave of the outbreak by providing necessary space. Poaching Alert – East Lothian
Local officers from Police Scotland in the East Lothian area are appealing for any information with regards reports of possible deer and fish poaching, in particular between Tyninghame and Knowes Farm areas. Information has been received that person/s are not complying with current Coronavirus restrictions and have attended these areas after dusk in recent days to poach deer and fish. The wildlife crime officer for the area, PC Steven Irvine, is aware of this latest information and appeals to anyone with further intelligence or information to contact him via 101 quoting incident number 3751 07/04/20.
