East Lothian Council’s Discretionary Fund Opens 3rd to 8th February

Do you know of any East Lothian businesses or self-employed people who have not yet qualified for any COVID-19-related support grant funding?
Please make them aware that East Lothian Council’s Discretionary Fund will open for applications tomorrow, with a closing date of 5pm on Monday 8th February – so it’s very important that applications are submitted quickly.
The application form will be on our dedicated business support web page – which also contains other really useful information on grants, loans & other financial support for businesses at this time.

Ageing Well Activities for Over 50’s

The Ageing Well project promotes healthy lifestyles for people over 50 in East Lothian. The project is a partnership between NHS Lothian and East Lothian Council.

The Ageing Well project aims to maintain and promote the physical and mental health, well being and quality of life for people over 50 in East Lothian through a list of activities.

Due to Coronavirus, Ageing Well has moved online for the time being. Check out the full list of activities below, including chair based exercise, seated pilates, yoga for everyone, singing for lung health, tai chi and mindfulness.

Crisis Handling Awareness Course – Free

CHANGES Community Health Project is running a course designed to raise awareness of how to help people who are in crisis, including the crisis of suicide.

The course is free to anyone who lives or works in East Lothian and is funded by the Health and Social Care Partnership in East Lothian.

There are two courses running over the next two months, one in February 2021 and one in March 2021. The details are noted below along with a link to the appropriate booking form. There is a maximum of 20 spaces per course, so book early to avoid disappointment.
