Carers of East Lothian Free Online Events June 2020

Carers of East Lothian (COEL) is running a series of free online events to mark Carers Week 2020 (8th to 14th June). Carers Week is a national campaign to raise awareness of unpaid carers, the challenges they face and the contribution they make to our communities.

The events are also listed on website https://www.coel.org.uk/events/ and will be publicised on Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/coel92/. All of the events are free but require internet access. Most of the events require advanced booking.

Self Help Guide: Access to Testing for Coronavirus

If you want to be tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) you should use the NHS Self Help Guide: Access to Testing for Coronavirus.

To be tested, you or your household member should:

be displaying symptoms (new, continuous cough, fever or loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste)
be aged 5 or over

Test and Protect

Test and Protect is Scotland’s way of putting into practice the ‘test, trace, isolate, support’ strategy to preventing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community.

It will prevent the spread of coronavirus in the community by:

identifying cases of coronavirus through testing
tracing the people who may have become infected by spending time in close contact with them
supporting those close contacts to self-isolate, so that if they have the disease they are less likely transmit to it to others
