Scottish Water Keep the Cycle Running Campaign

scottishwaterKeep the Cycle Running – Summer Campaign

People’s thoughts often turn to days out at the seaside and the outdoors over the summer months, so it’s the perfect time for Scottish Water to launch a new phase of the Keep the Cycle Running campaign to remind customers about the potential impact of flushing inappropriate items like wipes and cotton buds and what they can do to help the keep the cycle running smoothly.

The media statement attached here provides lots of details on this phase of the campaign.

Examples of some of Scottish Water’s messages for Twitter and facebook are:
– Help protect Scotland’s beaches & rivers – don’t rush for the flush http://bit.ly/1cUNsxP #SWcycle

– It’s a no brainer, use a container – know your kitchen checklist. Find out more: http://bit.ly/1cUNsxP #SWcycle

– Know how to save up to 6 litres of water a minute – turn off the tap while you brush your teeth: http://bit.ly/1cUNsxP #SWcycle

Volunteer for the RAF Association

RAF VolunteerThe Royal Air Forces Association is currently looking for Caseworkers and Befrienders.

The Association is the charity that supports the RAF family, whether it be serving members or veterans and their families. You can find out about the work they do here : https://www.rafa.org.uk/volunteer

Volunteer Caseworkers are needed now to join a team of welfare volunteers identifying the welfare need amongst the RAF family in the East Lothian area. No experience is needed as full training and support will be provided.

Right now there are veterans in the RAF family suffering from loneliness. Often, what can help more than anything is a friendly visit from a like-minded person. Could you become an RAF Association Volunteer Befriender and help make a positive difference to someone’s life?

Volunteering for the Association is great way of developing your skills, at the same time as supporting RAF veterans in your local community.
