Assessment criteria for funding

East Lammermuir Community Council has begun to receive very significant funding for local projects from Fred Olsen Renewables, the operators of the Crystal Rig wind farms.  Earlier this year, members of the Community Council held a special meeting, led by a professional facilitator, to discuss and begin to formulate criteria to be used in assessing applications for funding of local projects from this community benefit funding.

Below is a link to a copy of the facilitator’s report on this meeting.  It has to be stressed that this is a ‘draft’ or ‘preliminary’ report, because it is still subject to minor changes before being officially adopted by the Community Council as its policy for administering this funding.  We will shortly be making available  – on this web site and in other ways -an official application form for funding of local projects.  It is important for applicants to be aware of certain criteria and conditions applying to the funding and imposed by the wind farm operators.  These are set out in the following report.
