East Lammermuir Community Council and ‘At Home in East Lothian’ have joined forces to see if there are ways of improving support services in rural areas for older people and their carers, and to recruit local people to provide support.

If you would like to know more, please come along to our informal drop in session at Stenton Village Hall between 2:30pm and 4:30pm on Monday 15th June 2015.

Introductions Cllr Bruce introduced Stuart Gibb, area manager for Dunbar and Haddington Area Partnership. Mr Gibb has been in post for two months and explained his role and the structure of the Area Partnership. There are six area partnerships in East Lothian, with four area managers. The Area Partnership is the local voice of community planning and one of the key elements is to identify issues which need to be addressed within the communities of East Lothian. A key issues document will be compiled and once agreed included in the draft area plan. The Area Partnership is made up of local organisations and local government and as an area manager Stuart Gibb will support the partnership and deliver the agreed plan.

Stenton Gala Saturday 30th May, 1:30pm to 5:00pm

Stenton Gala will be held on Saturday 30th May in Stenton park, green and village hall. The fun kicks off with the children’s ‘Myths and Legends’ fancy dress on the green at 1:30pm. The gala will officially open at 2pm.

Best Dressed Scarecrow, Bouncy Castle, Fire Engine Display, Raffle, Tombola, Coconut Shy, Beat the Goalie, Face Painting, Plant Stall, Cake & Candy, BBQ, Ice-Cream, Teas, Duck Race and more. Come and join us for a great family afternoon out.
