Care & Repair East Lothian offers a service to home owners and private tenants aged 60 or over or who are disabled and aged 50 or over, who need help and advice on financing and carrying out housing improvements, repairs and maintenance and/or adaptations such as wet floor showers, stairlifts and ramps.
The service is confidential and free of charge.

Care & Repair East Lothian assist home owners and private tenants aged 60 and over or 50 and over with a disability to carry out essential repairs and maintenance and/or adapt their home to make it suitable for changing needs.
The Small Repairs Service aims to prevent minor maintenance problems developing into major works. The types of small repairs include fitting grab and handrails, door locks, safety chains and renewing sash cords and timber window sills. In addition, small electrical repairs can be done such as the fitting or repair of security lights, a free electrical home safety check and advice on larger electrical works.
How much does it cost? There is NO cost for the labour, this is free of charge – you will only pay for any materials used. This will be invoiced once the job is completed.
