East Lothian Archaeology & Local History Fortnight celebrates the richness of East Lothian’s intriguing history, impressive cultural heritage and fascinating archaeology at exciting events throughout the county. There are events to get everyone involved, including guided walks, illustrated talks, excavations, and lots more. The Fortnight is organised annually by East Lothian Council’s Archaeology Service.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – BLACK CASTLE ROAD (BRANXTON ROAD TO COCKLAW ROAD)
East Lothian Council will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on the above road commencing on 6th September for approximately 3 weeks, weather permitting.
In order to comply with current Health & Safety legislation, it will be necessary to close the road to through vehicular traffic during working hours, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday 08:00 to 13:00. No restrictions will be in place on Saturdays and Sundays.
