Mobile Covid Testing Arrangements Dunbar from 18th to 26th June

Almost 1 in 3 people with the virus don’t realise they have it and could be passing it on, especially to younger people who have not yet had the vaccine. With cases of the virus continuing to rise in East Lothian, a number of testing options continue to be in place locally for people who don’t have symptoms – a fever, cough, or loss or change of smell.

People with NO COVID-19 symptoms can get tested at the Mobile testing units operating at Dunbar Leisure Pool from 10am-6pm on the following dates:

Friday, 18 June, Saturday 19 June, and Monday 21 June to Saturday 26 June

Mobile Testing Units for week commencing 31st May 2021

Mobile Testing Unit Haddington

In recent months, mobile COVID-19 testing units have been deployed to various locations around East Lothian. For the first time, a unit will be based and operating out of part of the John Muir House car park from Monday, 31 May. Demand for car parking in the John Muir House campus has been lower than ‘normal’

Testing will be available on both a walk-in and drive through basis. This means that some parking spaces at the western side of the car park will be coned off on a temporary basis. The one-way system will continue to be in operation.

The testing unit will be staffed by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

More information about testing in East Lothian is available on the council website

COVID-19 Ventilation Advice for Everyone

Last updated: April 2021

Please remember, COVID-19 doesn’t take a break and the risks of infection remain. An infected person releases particles into the air when breathing, coughing or speaking – the risk of infection is greater indoors.

Meet outside where possible – The risk of infection is reduced as the air dilutes the particles and moves them away from others.

If other people (workers, or friends / family) are coming in to your home, open windows or vents in that room – Open windows, doors and vents before, during and after visits at home. This removes infected particles from the air.

Let fresh air indoors – Letting fresh air indoors regularly throughout the day will dilute any infected particles and reduce the infection risk.

Avoid recirculating air – Avoid using ventilation systems which only recycle used air. Make sure that fresh air is introduced to all spaces.
